Our Honeymoon trip to Andaman & Nicobar Islands

If there was a day, that we wouldn’t forget for heaven sake, it would be 17th Feb. This was the day when we piled our luggages towards the First honeymoon (?) voyage to the most exciting and Romantic Andaman & Nicobars Island. Our flight’s scheduled Departure time was by morning 05:30 –we hired a taxi from nanganallur and reached the Meenambakkam airport. That was my debut trip in flight as well. With tons of joy, I entered the airport a couple of hours. My husband was explaining me about the formalities. We got the boarding pass and opted a window seat. The baggage Check-in was followed by Security check-in. My husband’s security check got completed earlier than mines and to jointly get into the bus that takes us to plane. However he was forced to get into the bus by the impatient Security head leaving me in panic. I couldn’t imagine the consequences and was fear driven. The old lady standing before me was having lots of keys and purses. Strangled by suspicion, the security were  checking her for a long  time, that made me bite my nails without the need to do so. With an umpteen delay, I got into bus and met him near the plane that had a surging smile. When I saw my husband, I got relaxed until then I was like a child seeking for mom. At last we both got in to the flight. Ever since child hood, I was dreaming for a flight journey. Through the journey, I was always peeping out while flying. In the flight they gave us instructions on how to wear a jacket during taxiing. WOW! That was an unforgettable moment. In the flight, they gave breakfast. I was hungry by the time when it was served and hence I ate Sumptuous. We reached port blair in just 2 hours.

No sooner we stepped into port blair airport, we took a so called “Selfie“ with the plane. A security in the airport warned not to take any more. Lately, I realized that we were in a stringent union territory. And that we had already booked a taxi from port blair to markuzz ferry, driver Ram took us to the  ferry spot. On the way, we had to acknowledge that the road was clean and narrow. Or is that, the condition looked too good (only) at the early morning. Ram gave us some suggestion for site seeing in Havelock, for which we were heading to. We took a ferry bus to reach ferry terminus and were first to the spot as well. I was startled to see a lady smoking with her husband in the ferry bus. Within few minutes we reached the ferry spot to check in our luggage, took few snaps and were peeping the couples made for (smoking) each other. Later, we got into the ferry, with a first class A/C after seeing second class we thought we should have booked second class itself because the view was really good in the second class compared to the first class. First class window was very small impacting our scenic views. Hence those who read this blog, ensure you book a second class for the ferry to Havelock. With half satisfaction we sat in our place to see a cute baby (boy) around 1 to 2 years. His facial expression was too good that our camera’s 1/2000 shutter speed setting seemed less efficient. My husband is an awesome photographer, that he captures and sends to the respective people. Someone gossiped that the picture in our rupee note is an exact replica of coconut grooves that we watching on the way to Havelock.

It took couple of hours to reach Havelock. As usual, we were getting the gospels from the workers for taking photos with our tripod, when every other co-passenger left the ferry terminus. There we took one auto to our resort “GOLD STAR”, which had a private shallow beach beside. We heard about the word “pristine”. For the first time, we realized Pristine. This made us think as why merina beaches are not pristine. My husband clarified that higher the depth, violet color in “VIBGYOR“ alone intrudes the water for its lengthier wavelength. Hence water in merina looks violet bluish while that in Andaman is greenish. After refreshing we came to eat in the resort run mess. It was a total mess for waiting over an hour. By evening we came outside by walk to buy a rental scooter and to purchase some cloths. While returning home, we had our dinner and came to resort.

Next day by morning, 5 O clock we got up and went to Radha nagar beach in a scooty. During our travel we enjoyed a lot and expressed it by shouting and laughing. We also stopped every now and then in roads and took some snaps in beautiful places. Had if we hired a taxi, our privacy and freedom would have been buried. Hence strongly suggest hiring a bike. The roads were very narrow and none were there during our travel in the morning. We had seen the mist floating above the plants, needless to say they were lucrative. It took nearly one and a half an hour to reach radha nagar beach. We saw the beautiful sunrise in the early morning. We felt happy to see the sunrise and the water was shining like a silver string. There is no doubt as why this is beckoned as the best beach in asia. This is shallow to an extent like any other beach. We strolled the beach multiple times, went deeper into seas. Climbed the trees, sat around the branches and watched foreigners enjoying their stint. My husband lost half sovereign golden ring as an ill luck which was truly disappointing. That was purchased by my parents and I was even more anger. This anger got converted into what I would say as our first fight. I forced my husband to provide the scooty. I rode very fast and at one juncture and I couldn’t manage the balance and we both fell down .Blood was bleeding in my leg some people helped me with some water to wash the leg. My husband put some sand on the wound to prevent it from becoming septic. We went to off-course a small hospital in Havelock, That day night we spent our time in the private beach. That is the heavenly place meant for all peaceful lovers and lovely couples .

Next day, we reached kalapanthar beach. One shouldn’t miss this place as the road path to this resembles like the one to Kerala. Unlike Radha Nagar, this is not crowded and meant for couples. Quickly we moved to Havelock harbor to swing into water games for the most awaited Elephant beach. Wow- whitish sand. Do not miss this beach. My husband was not letting me to scuba diving with the fact that I knew no swimming. I have to make myself blessed with snorkeling in pristine water. Snorkeling is walking in water with a depth of < 8 feet guided by the guide. You just need the snorkeling tube that makes your breathing easy with your mouth. You need not know swimming. However in Scooba Diving, you will get into a depth of at least 40 feet. You need to carry those oxygen cylinders. If You are on your honey moon trip, you would be slightly worried to get into the middle of sea, which is like consuming a heavy meal . So better choose Snorkeling, a mini meal. We also went for a glass bottom ride to have a look at the sea creatures. This is an average ride. They also had banana rides,  Jet skying. Due to huge cost we had to refrain from them. We had to leave Elephant beach with a heavy heart and went to Radha Nagar beach for seeing sunset. The water turns orange and yellowish color and is one of  the highly watched events like Thiruvannamalai deepam festival. At last we reached the resort..  Third day we have to leave Havelock, we were worried that we should have for 2 more days here itself. Here we had one problem. We planned to take oil bath and we were preparing for applying oil  by that time resort manager came and asked us to vacate .we were shocked and  we told to the manager that we would leave by 12 noon . The manager said there weren’t any rooms. We thought that was not possible because we should catch the ferry for portblair by noon. So we rushed and came from the resort after facing so many problems. Then we had no place to stay because our ferry departure time is 11.30 we were just  having 2 hrs.  We had to return the scooter with a penalty of Rs 2000 penalty. We paid some prepondment charges and got the ferry before 11.30.That day was terrible to us.

We reached portblair and went to hotel “Hill Top”. We took rest on that day had oil bath. Then on next day we went to jolly bay. There were so much hype about this place but after going there we realized that it was not worth the money. Especially having visited Havelock, this was totally disappointing.

Next day we went to Mahatma Gandhi national park. It was bit pleasant, the fact being it was sea facing. It has swings and tree hut views that are eye catchy. We moved to cellular jail that was built by British. The best part of this was again the sea view. Many of the prisoners , who tried escaping died few meters when traversing in sea. We were not happy with the cost of hotel hilltop and we had to shift one another with the help of tamil friend.

Next day we took ferry and went to North bay island. This is little cheaper when compared to Elephant beach. It is advisable to do  jet skying, sofa ride. Snorkelling could be avoided as water is bit dirty. We met a character “maza nahi “  who wanted much more adventure with her soft husband. The banana and sofa rides, they drop u in water and my husband was roaring like a wounded lion, when dropped after the ride. You could plan to buy some Andaman takeaways here. Then we reached Ross island, in that place lots of coconut tree and deers. Nothing much to do in this island. I was for all tears when a ship got submerged here in 2014 , due to overcrowd.

Next day we went to chidiyathur beach that was not so bad. We faced one problem in that place , we didn’t get bus in the evening. We almost lost hopes. There were only 2 couples including us. We were also scared to go by autos who could deceive us with added cost. By 6.30, we got the last bus and came to the hotel.

Finally the next day morning ,we had flight from portblair to Chennai. Our budget went to Rs 77000 for both of us including hotels, food, flight journeys and penalties. More importantly we had loads of fun.

One Afternoon in Hokkenakkal

Pals who had had a hectic Project work for few months and if dwarting for relaxation ,Hokkenakkal will be your crispy spot...The speciality of Hokkenakkal is the Oil massage cum risky coracle ride where you could become a prey to crocodiles in the 1.5 Hrs river journey ...I wanted this blog to be photo centric,so lets move through key pictures....

1. The intensity of water in the falls in November season is fine and color is pure as it derives from thalakauveri

2. After you cross the hanging bridge you have a Scenic view welcomming you .....You can enjoy that by having fresh roasted fish

3.You also have lot of monkeys ,hovering around the place...Will be nice to see your relatives...

4.I have abandoned Coracle ride sheerly due to omnipresence of crocodiles and I was adviced to take that in May season ....

Spine Chilling Scenic Thriller trip - Parali

After the adventurous TADA journey in 2009, my heart was craving for a unique and scenic trip. Some one bustled in my ears to try Parali as ‘A Jungle ideal for trekking ‘, rest few sang the merry of ‘Coracle ride’ while websites boasted Parali for its ‘Tribal Dance’. With various Jingles on Parali, I had a staunch feeling that something is waiting on my way to get lost in this dazzling bizarre. The day came, where my close friend despite of ill health succumbed to take the pride of being pillion rider in my 110 Cc darling – ‘Activa’.

We kicked off the amazing trip by filling Petrol for 3 Liters in Indian Oil Corporation by Morning 09:30. The obvious fact is we didn’t know the route neither we googled the maps to have a clear travel strategy .All we were informed is that it was near to karamadai .We took the sathy highway instead of Conventional M.P road which traversed through single lanes, haunting factories to finally merge with karamadai @ 10:30 .It’s here where our woes started .One of the localities’ asked us to drive towards Ooty .I nodded my head without any dissent and managed reaching Kallar falls. There we were informed that Kallar falls has yet another name as Parali Aaru .A quick flash back - We had asked for Parali Kaadu but were routed to Parali Aaru due to noise in the air .The summary is this wrong direction costed us 45 minutes ,0.75 liters of petrol and 30 Kms of travel.

Hence we went back to kaaramadai and called the forest Officer, Aandavar. From his conversation, we understood that we need to fill in our petrol tanks yet again (to travel the whooping distance). This time we filled petrol in Reliance bunk and reached Velliyankadu .The road was filled badly interspersed with coarse stones that will not let you travel > 30 Kms /Hr. Surrounded by trees on both the sides, with paddy fields on the right, the place resembled me of murder spot of Vettayadu vilayadu. Even by 12:00 Noon, I was feeling cold, bit shivering due to loneliness. I even thought of returning back to my home, but the fantasy towards parali ceased the thought. There was a bungalow near by, where an old gentleman was watering his gardens. With fear pricking like thorns, I asked him if it was safer to drive in Parali jungle further. The guy assured that there is 98% chance of being eaten away by animals swaying in the jungle, 2% chances of being stamped by elephants. Even then I couldn’t take back my step and advanced forward to reach the Jungle check post .The information board hung there irked my eyes stating Parali was still 24 Kms.

As I climbed the hill with my friend, my heart pumped bit faster looking at the mirages of fox in the Silent jungle. I was totally uncomfortable with silence atmosphere, with the intention of breaking the ice asked my friend how much distance would we have travelled from check post .The reply was 2 Kms..? Nope…This can’t be…Even if it was just 2 Km we had travelled, I asked my friend to respond as 4 Km, as this would enhance my courage to fly. My friend understood the situation and nodded faster than I expected - The same cold blood in my friend? We were travelling through semi steep hair pin bends .This road curves remembered me of trips to Sun set point ‘Agumbe’ .At one point , dunk of elephants were very apparent and frequent but self realized that it was too late to even fear. After 30 minutes I could see some tribal people .My joy knew no bounds .Seeking their guidance I reached the next check post who directed us to take a further right .Now, this phase of road trip frequented lots of people and this made us feel comfortable. Finally we took another right to reach food distribution Point who diligently directed us to Coracle ride spot. Statistically speaking, it took 85 Kms to reach this spot from Gandhipuram with 1.6 liters of Petrol and 3 hours of Travel.

Parali is surmounted by bluish hills, dam, dense trees filled by Pillur water. We were asked to wear a life jacket and a coracle was ready to welcome us. The water depth was something troubling me and understood that it was 45 feet deeper .We could see a cobra mating with Viper in the ridges, king fisher resting under the shadows of Dam reservoir. The ride was at its best when the coracle started nearing the hills. With a gentle breeze singing in your ears, Hue Mountains standing in front of you, do you think heaven is so far from you .Might be but for sure, it was heavenly feeling .The driver stopped at a mini island for 10 minutes. I kept watching the majestic Hills holding the sun that was about to disappear. This site would be further adorned when it drizzles or looks cloudy. The Climax of the ride was ultimate when the driver rotates the coracle .You might get either vomiting sensation or you might fall deeply in love with the swing which depends on how you take the ride .

We were almost starving for a lunch and reached the Food distribution Point to have raagi balls with tomato Chutneys, Vegetable briyani with raithas along with chapattis .The fear of returning back quickly refrained us from eating slowly. The food taste is almost in par with Murugan Idli Shop .Rather than to say that we started the return journey ,I should say we had to start our return journey owing to to risk of getting stuck in Jungle darkness. To refrain from fear of Jungle loneliness ,I started speaking about my Cutki trips ,Madurai trips with my friend till I reached velliyangadu ,but deep in my heart it was ringing that none of them were as Scenic and thrilling as parali was…… !

Karnataka Pilgrim Trip on the eve of Navrathri Festival

Not many knew in India , that apart from Mysore , Karnataka has lot Many Scenic attractions .I was in that “Many” List until , I surfed for Karnataka Tourism to exploit Dasara Holidays 2009 .The journey Started from Chennai Central on 18th September in Mangalore Xpress by 17:00 Hrs .Upon reaching Kasarghat , the Morning sunrise saw my entire coach vacant .The Northern kerala was almost ending ,when Karnataka twinkled at us ,but there weren’t apparent signs of Karnataka culture ,except for the Kannada Name Plates in the Railway Stations .On contrary ,Kerala’s unique trend such as Pyramid style houses , South west Monsoon , evergreen forests , Coconut trees ,back waters and beautiful Girls J ,continued till we alighted in Mangalore. Train reached the Station 5 minutes Early .Was that the reason why it was raining heavily ? Mangalore Bus Stand is hardly 2 Kms and the Auto waala charged us bare minimum of Rs 20 .Was it that ,since we came from Chennai ,auto charges looked bare Minimum ?

Udupi: 19th -20th September
On the way to Udupi ,I could see my Dream NIT , in Suratkal . I was dying for this college, post my Secondary Education. With beaches at the campus backyard , Suratkal NIT got registered 4 inches higher in my Heart than it’s rival ,Trichy one. By Mid Noon ,after an Hour and Half Journey , we reached Udupi. After a quick shower in VidyaSamudra Thirtha Chatra , we proceeded for the important Occasion , Lunch .
Food in Udupi :
We entered the Brahmin’s Bhojana Shaala through the backside of the Temple .We were honored with a plantain leaf .A few of those who sat prior to us , denied a leaf .I assumed they should have come for just giving company to their relatives. But their actions didn’t coincide with my Assumptions .They cleaned the frontal floor in a rectangular section with a tailored hand kerchief ,after which they were served with Salt, followed by rice and Rasam on the self cleaned floor Section . With surprises surmounting me, I muttered to my Father why the hell are they eating in floor ? He replied ,it was a type of Seva (Service rendered to god).Hearing that ,I felt like Vomitting .I was at the fag end of my patience when an aunty sitting opposite to me was licking her fingers ,with face delighted as if she had had the healthiest food ever in her life time. Simply horrible .Coming to the food that was served ,it was Rasam first, followed by Sambhar ,Payasam and ended with spicy buttermilk ,everything served twice hot except for buttermilk .Food is served daily with Sweet ,both Afternoon and night . People who would prefer only Tiffin in the night time can opt for WoodLands restaurant , 100 meters away from temple . People in Udupi speak kannada in Malayalam accent ,which was like eating hot Vaazhakkai bhajji dipped in Honey . Ketkkave Kodumaya Irundhadhu!
Places near By :
We arranged ambassador (car ) for Local Places around Udupi .First to Pajaka Kshetra ,birth place of Madvacharya , Madwa guru . Anantha Theertha (a) Madwacharya ,is believed to be the 3rd incarnation of vaayu ,after Hanuman & Bhima .He had had various child hood Miracles .One of them was suppressing the hood of Manimantha, who took the form of a snake to kill him .The other miracle was the creation of his own thirtha ,vasudeva thirtha , when his mother called off from taking bath in Parashu , Dhanus , Baana & Gadaa thirthas.. Durga betta is a scenic spot nearer to pajaka but seemed panic driven with lot many hungry monkeys hanging over. Janardhan swamy temple in Ambalpaady ,is the one that I admired most amongst all , for its gorgeous entrance with contrasting dark Brown Shades .Inside the temple ,there was a mini park ,but owing to drizzlers ,none of the devotees dared entering there .Finally We started towards Malpe beach with lot of hope that rain would stop before we reach there ,but it didn’t .My parents happened to sit inside the Car for the very simple reason that they didn’t carry an umbrella even after me forecasting South west Monsoon’s reign .I could manage the drizzles for few minutes without an Umbrella .The Malpe beach Sand was almost like Alleppy’s white filtered Sand , while the shallowness of the beach reminded me of Rameswaram .
Sri Krishna Temple :
When the clocks ticked 8 in the night, bells of varied shapes and varied pitch ,jingled ,non-stop for 15 minutes. Sri Krishna consecrated by Madhwacharya can be seen ONLY through the openings between the Door. That’s it and that is the saddest thing of all . There are very Many Sevas that starts from Rs 1,75,000 and ends at 50. Similar to Kerala temples , priest here offer Chandan and thirtha as well .The conical roof ,multi tiered brass Lamps ,kuttambalam or theatre hall ,all depict the cultural impact towards Kerala Temples tradition ,although built in Karnataka. Goshaala had huge cows looking like Jersy .The laddu prasadam in the Temple is neither good nor bad ,but andhraites wouldn’t prefer that as it matches no way before Tirupati Balaji. The Green Lake to the side of the Temple pricks every devotee’s eyes .If possible seek the permission of the Temple security to take a dip without disturbing the black ducks. We bid adieu to udupi in the afternoon and wished I would come again with my fiancĂ©. We took a KSRTC bus to go to Murudeshwar. The drive was splendid with lot many backwaters and lush green bunches. The Moody clouds with interspersed rain drops was cheering us to Murudeshwar like T 20 Dancing Girls

Marudeshwara:20th-21st September

The year ‘s at the Spring and day’s at the Morn;
Morning’s at seven;The hillside’s dew -pearled;
The lark’s on the wing; the Snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven - All’s right with the world.

An Example for Out of Box Scenic Tourist Temple - Marudeshwara . With 343 feet high Silver coated Shiva Shrine ,and a bluish green Arabian Beaches Surmounting the temple , this place reckons repeating Audience, throughout the Year . The 650 feet high Gopuram welcomes us to Lord Shiva Temple with 2 royal Elephants (Rock Carves?). Tourists, spend significant time here itself in shooting Snaps with White Gopuram and Royal Elephants as their back ground . One could see a lot many amateur photographers ,giving Instant Polaroid Photos at a nominal rate ,helping families who don’t Own cameras.
Upon entering the Temple , I was awe-struck by the gold tint shimmering resplendently everywhere . I knocked the Gold tint (Midas Knock) to check if it was Gold metal ,but it was a golden wall painted one .By Evening 18:30 Hrs , when Sodium Vapor lamps starts strewing blessings on the Shiva Shrine to multiply its gorgeousness Logarithmically , Tourists start climbing the hillock . A Snap of Nandhi with a mix of heavy down pour and vapor lamp brightness will be a favorite shot , for one’s life time .The Beautiful beach is best Viewed when seen through the gaps of Nandi , ganesh , Ravana Mould Mades . There is a katha Chitra Auditorium in the hillock , that narrates in kannada as how ravana obtained the blessings of divine .Built just 1 year back , the Auditorium is full of Fabricated colorful Moulds and what impressed me was ravana’s stand with 10 heads and like a Crane with One leg for a hot Penance . The Auditorium is Air Conditioned and is open till 20:30 Hrs . Arjuna –Krishna Chariot and Sun God’s Chariot are notable ones .Few say the Statue was re-structured , when a portion of it was damaged in Tsunami 2004 .
Places near By : Towards North East of this Place lies Jog Falls for just 70 kms, Gokarna & Goa are 60 , 200 Kms respectively in the Western Front , 110 Kms in the South lies Udupi , while kollur lies 60 kms in South eastern direction .
Transport : Bhatkal is the Nearest big town ,that connects this Spot with other near by Places. Tourists going with relatives & family Members with heavy luggages can arrange their own vehicle ! For Romantic Couples , Public Transport will suffice
Food & Lodging : The Curse to this beautiful Spot is unhygienic & Costliest lodging . Marudeshwara Lodge is a cheap one with Rs 350 /day for a Non-Ac @ week days ,while kamath starts @ Rs 800 / day ,with not even a Television facility . On Food front , Kamath is better one, if veggies can withstand flies and Mosquitoes in idlies .
Ideal Season : February to October Mid reigns this place with Humid Summers and South West Monsoon .So any time outside this loop will be good to hang out !

Kollur :21 st September
Although Kollur is less than 60 Kms from Marudeshwar , there is no direct KSRTC bus .As a result , we had to move on to Bhatkaal and then get down at Byndoor to travel Kollur. The blog wouldn’t be a complete one ,if I don’t appreciate the Vegeterian food @ Hotel Srinivaasa in Bhatkaal , the cheaper one with a decent taste .In Kollur, Right from the priest till devotee everyone was keralite, with none of the devotees being kannadigas ,except for my parents and myself. The only apparent odd thing was that temple being located in Karnataka . It was a superb evening (again with rain) where I was bestowed an opportunity in clicking few Amateur kuchipudi dancers in half boiled swinging action .On the eve of Navarathri , the temple bore a festivous look with traditional dances and music . I felt really Lucky and thanked the almighty and my Supervisor as well , for granting a superb occasion like this .

Agumbe,Sringeri,Kudremukh :22 nd September
We hired an Omni to embark towards Sringeri . The journey in the early morning through the Tropical Moist Evergreen coniferous forest ,was a life time gift ,with cool breeze slashing one’s face sidewards .The road was bumpy ,narrow ,eroded at few places ,however every minus got zeroed before the glory of thick dense Moist green forests .The presence of Algae on the road sides ,both sides ,presented rich green look ,much captivating for any Traveller to stop and to admire at it for a while! Agumbe , Sunset point is worth of viewing at evening time .In Forenoon we ended up with just clouds passing over our heads .The tall barrier was disturbing in shooting a Portrait with scenic background . We reached Sringeri sharp 10 .
Believe it or not ,the temple was difficult to trace .What started as a Small corridor , grew into enthralling huge green garden .The temple architecture resembled Tamil Nadu style and most of the devotees were fluent in Tamil as well . One must visit the river bank with huge colorful fishes , Guru Nivas and garden set behind the temple .Food in Sringeri is unique as ,they provide curries , kosambari apart from the conventional routines and ladies do participate in serving food to the devotees .I could mention it ,as the best of the food we had ever had in any of the karnataka temples ,we had visited .
On the way to Horanadu , Kudremukh national Park was a passing cloud and had many Passing clouds hitting the car frontal .The Plateau ,Valleys were playing a game with Sun and clouds and was dangerous to step out of the car ,as different places were spotted with Name Plates for Poisonous snakes and wild Animals .We were at Ladhki (seems it’s a dam ,but there were no traces of water). A BSF told me that there was a case registered against Karnataka government which hasn’t let water open for the ladki Dam, that was governed by the Central Government .

Horanaadu :22 nd - 23 rd September
Horanaadu , primarily a hill station, I would say is an ideal place for newly married couples to spend their honey moon. Chillness was rocking that one can’t sleep without carpets. Aware of this cold fact, the Annapurneshwari Lodge should have placed a hot water connection in every room . The Room Rent was just Rs 80 .(Jai Ho !) Unfortunately ,no Plug Points in any of the rooms .Charging to be done only in common area .(Jai No !).Having Been to Sringeri ,we had big imaginations on the temple Premises & its services ,but it was just 30% matching to our expectations .Unnecessary lines for darshan was one key factor among them . On the eve of Navarathri , fruits and vegetables were hung over the roof ,in this temple alone which is famous for bestowing seemless flow of food for devotees .Outside the temple premises , are few Grocery type shops that sells spices like cardamom , Almonds, tea Powders etc at half the price .Coffee lovers have a wide scope for purchase in Horanaadu for cheaper price .If I tell you that I took bath in waterfalls adjusant to temple, you would tell me that I am just pranking you .Many know not , that horanaadu hosts a small kutraalam. The roofs of few resident’s houses near temple are pentagonal and shrubby garden with invisible compound walls .

Dharmasthala : 23 rd September
We bid Adieu to Annapurna @ 10 by getting into Kottichera bus and commenced the next leg of our trip .While the Mile stone speaks just 48 KMs ,the journey consumed awesome 2.15 Hrs through Tea / Coffee estates & Valleys moving on with C curves and hairpin bends. As a luck would favor us ,we got an Outstanding bus to Dharmasthala .The first one Hour saw too many Waterfalls oozing from top notches of hills on one side .The gushing water stream descended the Highway road like a white streak and after being hit by tyres of highway buses made its way to the valley ,on the other side. It was finally 14:30, when we stepped into the Jain town ,Dharmasthala. The town was not impressive, but the room we opted was too good for just Rs 70 .The Guest House had Coffee parlour ,Luggage Room, Charging Point. The saddest part of the story is that power supply won’t be available at day time .I inquired on worthy places around Dharmasthala .The Help desk guy replied instantly – Manjunatha Swaamy ,Museum & Dining Hall .The Answer cut my veins, tweaking laughter in me. The Hotel food was not too good, neither the food @ Temple Dining hall .In fact it was the Worst of all ,with lot many Masala items .The Service was too quick and ended in 10 minutes. Neither of the servers never worried on what devotee had on their plates ..They just poured Butter milk over the unfinished sambhar rice and hurried fast. It hurts the hunger and puts a halt to the eating curiosity .Coming to the Temple , it’s Policies were a sort of disaster with unwanted big queues, trying to imitate tirupathi but actually was having scanty devotees. The hanging big Tvs rose the eye brows of few devotees, but not me for sure .Unable to bear the poor food , we made a decision to quit Dharmasthala, the next morning.

Subrahmanya : 24th September
We vacated the Lodge by 07:00 , in the morning to Kukke Subrahmanya. Neo Mysore cafĂ© was recommended by few and we tried our breakfast there. My mom had a very appeasing , satisfactory breakfast after a very long time. Subrahmanya temple was unusually crowded ,reason being Sarpa Nivarthi Dosha performed in the temple .There is a river , in the backyard of the temple .Spend some time , meditating in silence..It's really worth of it .The highlight of the temple is young energetic paltry haired elephant in the front yard of the temple ,dancing while blessing .(Don’t forget to say “hello” to the beautiful Lady Inspector ,in charge of this temple.FYI ,she is married .)

Mysore : 25th,26th September
The Bus journey was 7 hours and we alighted @ 20:00 hrs in Mysore Inter City Bus Terminus. The Next Morning , we visited the Chama raja Zoo. This was built in 1896 A.D by Chama raja. Now it has grown into a sprawling campus of 100 Acres .Being a Rainy season , Peacock was in full swing and opened it’s feathers to give us a Visual Treat. For Senior citizens ,who might not be able to walk ,zoo has provided a open roofed vehicle. Few Varieties I had seen included Nocturnals as wild cats, Crane descendants as Flamingos ,Reptiles like vipers, special cases as Malaysian Tapirs , Donkey descendants as Zebras, Goat descendants as Deers, Crocodile descendants as Comodo Dragons. After having Lunch , we moved to Mysore Palace rebuilt in 1890 A.D with 42 lakhs . The palace has 5 gates namely, east : jayamaarthaand -- For movement of horses &elephants ,North: Balarama For dasara procession, West:Brahngapuri gate – For personal purpose, South: varaha – For VIPs ,thotti For general Public .It is Raja Wodayar who kicked off the Wodaiyar reign in Mysore around 1610 A.D , after the fall of Vijaya Nagara kings. The Golden throne contains stair case, Umbrella and myths attribute its hailings to be from hastinapura and was first used by Jayachama rajendra Wodayar. The Whole palace was decorated in lights and it was very nice viewing it after sunset..There is a howda made of 80 kg of gold, used for procession of deity, during dasara. Seems Government spends 30 lakhs for dasara Days for electricity bill Alone.
Since it was raining ,my parents stayed in hotel and I made my way to K.R.S Musical Garden ,20 kms away from the city .Amidst the heavy rain ,there was a huge crowd that landed in own Cars, vans. I was very happy to have tripod with me ,without which photos wouldn’t have been too good. I shooted all the videos from the top stairs ,with less disturbance. Next day we spent few hours at Sri Rengapatnam Temple and Mysore Emporium where we purchased 2 Mysore Silk Sarees ,without any VAT. We got into Rajahamsa Delux bus to reach bengaluru finally to spend our Dasara in our Aunty House. There ended our beautiful Karnataka trip.

Best Practices :
When planning to travel plenty of places near by ,choose after noon time rather Evening /Morning time. Reserve it for site seeing .(This will also let enormous time for cloths getting dried paltry in the night under fan as well in morning)

While going for Tourist Spot , try to enquire the rates in different adjacent hotels ,before opting one. Go for one with “Good” facility with lesser rate than “Superb” one with higher rates. The objective of our tourism is to see around sites than to stay at the best hotel and spending for rooms.(This is what we did in Murudeshwar and saved Rs 400 by not choosing Kamath Hotel)

If you don’t know kannada perfectly, better stay away from Karnataka Taxi drivers, as they are bound to charge you double fare.(We were cheated in Kollur ,given the fact that we knew kannada half baked.)

Have Complete Schedule of Places & Dates on which you would be visiting .Categorize into “Must See” and “optional” ..Spend more time in the former and if time permits cover the Latter one..Never be in a hurry to be on Schedule .. Objective is to enjoy thoroughly even the very few you visit ,rather than to Cover very many places in a hurry burry!(We left thala kauvery ,as we were running out of time)

Have a MP3 player with battery charged ..Have few discourses and listen them on travel ,than always listening to songs.

Try to buy few unique things of the Place (Mysore Silk is cheaper in mysore, Spices cheaper in Horanad….)

For a long duration tour ,carry less luggage ,with the objective of Reusing the used cloths after washing .(Frequent travel never overburdened due to less luggage)

The luckiest person is not the one with money in plenty, but the one who is able to travel places in Plenty

Places I would love travelling again :
Udupi ,Murudeshwara , Kollur and Sringeri & kudremukh in South West monsoon Season ,yet again J

A trip to Kerala

After watching the gorgeous backwaters  in  the movie ,”Autograph” ,I was eagerly  looking for a moment to Alleppy Trip .The election came as a bliss in guise , when Chennai was declared holiday on 13 th May .Adding to that, the subsequent Saturday was also declared the holiday , due to Election Counting … I packed off 12 th May evening to Coimbatore in Mangalore Express on a Tatkaal ticket .Kandha shasti Kavasam  songs played in a share Auto brightened my spirit that the trip will turn into an awesome one .The Train Started by 20:00 Hrs from Egmore and managed to reached Coimbatore by 11:00 , next day ,travelling a whooping distance of 950 kms in 13 Hours .Located close to Kerala , the climate was very nice even in the Fore Noon, even  in the Mid of May. I attended Sri yathee’s  (my Niece) Punyaarchana  and came to KSRTC stand by 21:30 Hrs … Even while  standing in Coimbatore Bus Stand , I had  the feeling of standing on  Kerala Soil , reason being I was fully Surmounted  by keralites. To avoid being blue in the  moon , I thoroughly enquired on buses availability to Guruvayur . As a  bad luck , I had a bus only to Thrissur .Got a reservation token , and entered the bus .The Width for walking in the bus was spacious than a TNSTC  and the space was obviously borrowed from seating  Comfortness of passengers .Consequently , 2 Co –passengers who sat near me struggled through out the Journey for the want of Space .The seats  would be a bless only for Love birds ..The only Console is  the Window without Grill bars that helps  in mingling with Scenic nature on the Road Side . I should Have travelled by evening /Early Morning time to enjoy this ..
It was 01:00 , when I reached Thrissur . Bus to Guruvayur was by 02:00 .In the mean time  , I strolled leisurely  on the foot paths of Thrissur bus Stand .I could observe that  there were No  Dust Spilled , No stains on the Seat , No chaos and looked  totally Opposite  to Hyderabad Bus Stands .When the bus arrived ,most people preferred  the queue system except the other State people  .(No doubt as why  kerala outperforms other states in terms of high literacy rate ).. I could see inside my  first chamber  heart , that  the  respect towards Kerala I have  ,was getting deeper a bit lot !Getting down at guruvayur by 03:00 , I saw devotees standing in long queues .It was just 03:00 and I was taken aback by the devotion they had towards deity . Being a Friday I didn’t get a room in Guruvayur even after roaming for 1 hour in NEWS (North East West South) . Adding to that I went as a lonely Sailor ,so I was forbidden the access Entry .(Only few lodges offer rooms for Lonely Sailors) . So I  took bath in a Surabhi Complex ,kept my belongings in Cloak room and joined  the queue by 04:30 .I was sleepless ,the last night ,but still the fancy I was drawing  from the citizens of  god’s own Country ,didn’t  let me sleep .Divine Ladies  with streaks of  Chandan  in their foreheads, wearing  traditional White Sarees with brown ,pink ,yellow ,brown borders and Jacket Colors matching their borders .Cute Smiled  little girls with midy dresses  and flowers hanging on their V Shaped hair . Gents and sweet little boys wearing  dhotis , waiting eagerly to have dharshan of Lord Guruvayur Appan (fondly called as Lord Krishna),were prickling my divine senses to become a keralite atleast in my next birth  .Apart from that,  there was not even a milliliter of body  Deodarants Foul Smell  ..It was a natural World .. My desire to marry a keralite girl  was growing deeply in the second chamber of my heart .The very thought went in hand in hand to see a typical  Keralite marriage performed on the temple premises ..Ceremony went hardly for 20 minutes ,after which relatives were feasted  ..Relatively Simple than the Tamil Nadu ones! To keep me alert , I drank a coffee ,which I never used to drink ,except to keep me wake …..By 09 :30 , I had the dharshan .
Normally I used to have lunch in the Temple ,but the temple was overflowing with devotees ,I chose a hotel . When I was about to wash my Plantain leaf with a jug of water , I noticed that ,it was jug of buttermilk …Kudos to hotel for letting open the buttermilk to customers..And buttermilk had the coriander leaves , green chillies ,ginger ..Lingeree , indeed ! The vitamin B12  rice of  kerala is matchless to anything in the world ..I had gulps of Kgs of rice  getting inside me , the reason being  i skipped my breakfast in the morning .The Mango  Pickle was liquid ,contrary to gravy style of Andra Pradesh. Drank litters of buttermilk .i over utilized the amount of Rs 30  which  I had payed to the hotel .I got 2 gallons of  pink hot water into my water bottle ,filled ..The server raised no concerns on this ..Had if this been in Tamil Nadu , I would have been blown off ! There were few  bharatha Nattiyam  Performances  going on the stage .Right from Kids to ladies were rocking in the stage ..After clicking few snaps ,I  Left to bus stand to move to Cochin .This is the first time ,I am moving  beyond Guruvayur ! The buses  had a Pick up like a Royal Enfield and drove at the rate of 70 Km/hr in the narrow roads .The driving in particular was too rash and seemed like keralites are used to that .Could see no fears in the faces of my Co-Passengers .On the way to Cochin , I could see , 3 coconut trees , a Plantain tree , Mango Trees  in every   house .The Scenary was almost same till the back waters appeared for the first time, when the bus was nearing Ernakulam ..Few told me it was the cherai beach of Vipin Islands .I booked a room in Five Star Hotel (Name of the hotel is so ) By evening 18:30 Hrs , scenary got  changed as  in cochin   I could see tall buildings like Chennai ..What took me to surprise was the Cochin people used boat just like chennaites use Metro train for commutation .The Friday evening was bit rush but a friend took me to the back portion of the boat ,which was less crowded , guided me by  narrating the ship yards , Coastal navies .He invited me to his house ,and gave me 2 glasses of Rasna ..Very affectionate Family ..He was a god in guise ..The Miracle didn’t stop here .In the cargos Ship ,I had a 80 year aged old person guiding me to Vipin boat jetty (jetty means Station ..Don’t see the literal meaning in Tamil ..Sounds Horrible)Inspite of the mosquito bites , the boat ride was nice ..Had if had I had my fiance here , it would be memorable ..Any way ,I have plans to take her to cherai beach ,next time .
Next day Morning ,I started to Kumaragam .Since had no direct buses to kumaragam ,got down at Vaikkam to get another one ..Kumaragam is an awesome destination to all Romantic /Scenic lovers .In Kumaragm ,I entered a Mosaic Floored , Air Conditioned , Home theatred posh hotel to have 2 idlies .. With 2 chutneys and Sambhar , I was panic about the bill and smiled when it was just Rs 10. One beautiful girl working for the boat service instructed me to go to Kottayam – Bodi Matha to get a Service boat .On the way to bodimatha , I happened to see yet  another fantastic Scene ,where  Drunkard Passenger was scolding a conductor  for no reasons , for which Conductor and  fellow passengers never responded .Good way to avoid the fight!
Aligghting at Bodimatha , I asked the Boat Conductor , which side  of the boat to sit to catch worthy pictures ? He Smiled and went off . The boat started slowly moving off the Lotus / lilly plants and planks . Both the sides were decorated with Coconut and mango trees .On the banks were Few diving  , few washing the cloths  .All  these reminded me off  “mile sur me la tumhara” song . As the boat entered the larger portion , the banks which appeared very near on either sides became too separated ..2 eyes won’t be sufficient to see the turn of the boat into larger portion of the Back Waters .After few miles , Boat houses came into picture and their population increased tremendously moving further ,indicating the nearness of Alleppy .The beauty of the boat houses , is that it is available at various costs to suit  various economic sectors. It starts at Rs 500 in the name of shikara where 5 people can travel for 2 hours in backwaters ,Non –Ac Boat houses for Rs 8000 / day ,which moves in  Waters the whole day and anchors at banks in nights, returning to Alleppy the next day morning ,Luxury A/C boat houses for Rs 20000/day . Indeed a good choice for honey Moon Couples. I paid just  Rs 10 for the boat journey from Kottayam to Alleppy of 43 Kms that lasted for 3.5 hours
I started to Alleppy Beach ,putting a room at Matha Guest house . The beech was humid and average. The beech sand & beech park   added some colors to the beech  .All I could notice is that most of them were considering me a filmatographer  as I was roaming with tripod.  Particularly ,when I was shooting some pictures , 4 girls hid my slippers in the sand and asking apologies for their naughtiness .Activities in Kerala winds off by 19:00 Hrs..No street lights were available ,not even in the bus stand Area .People’s prime  self job was  selling Lotteries. kerala helps Poor people lead a decent life there as the rates are very less from rice to house rents ,but hasn’t seen much improvements  the world is witnessing .
Next day morning , I went to Ambarapuzha  .Seems it is the second famous  Krishna temple in kerala . The pond was slippery ,but awesome . Shrine was big . A College  girl from sathya Sai Foundation led children from nearby  village to pluck the grasses and weeds in the temple premises .Nice initiative . Spend some time in purchasing kathakali  mask and finger rings . A pious place that I felt like visiting again . . If you are in kerala , there is no need of a separate  Picnic Spot ,.Watching the scenes as you go through the bus  fills  one’s picnic penchant .On my way back to Cochin in train , I sat in the footsteps of Train watching the greenery on that  cloudy Sunday .”The golden memories of Kerala  “ were all running in my mind as the train was reaching the congested Chennai !

Statistics :

9.5 Out of 10 Ladies look Extremely  beautiful in kerala. Remaining 0.5 look beautiful.
7 Out of 10 Guys in Kerala help other people .Remaining 3  don’t  because of Communication problems.

A Trip to Vishakapattinam

A Small Miscalculation that Vizag won’t have much travellers punished me ,enforcing to book a Tatkaal towards Vizag .The vizag express has to leave from the Secunderabad station by 17:00 Hrs and it kept up its words. There was an oriyan family , some tribal people in my Cube. A teenager in the oriyan family (OF) opened the lid of badaam milk bottle sheerly by bitting with his strong teeth .The cube was silent for the next 30 minutes, the amazing dentist being the reason for the silence . The father of that OF had plasters on his leg. It seems he had come to Hyderabad from Srikakkulam for removing puss from his legs. He was told by the oriyan doctors that Hyderabad had good infrastructure {oh! My god}. I got to know about the places to be seen in Orissa from him. I could note a sense of passion in his face when he was briefing amidst the pain in his leg! The oriyan family opened the Chicken Briyaani , the smell drove me out & came back after 20 minutes when bones were interspersed here & there. The father of that OF gave me a giggling welcome smile and asked me if I can sleep in MB ,letting his wife sleep in LB that was allotted to me. I beautifully narrated a story stating how I got slipped from bathroom , bcoz of which I won’t be able to climb even MB..This was the third time in my life time, that I had lied …There is a reason behind that one but ofcourse not so Noble. The next morning he kindly reminded me to taste food in Daspal Hotel in the jagadambha Center . He had his last word “ Tum Akelle aaya ? “. As ususal , I wore a Smiley Mask outside ….

Upon reaching the platform , something flashed my eyes. It was Trichy –Howrah express that was gasping in Platform No 2 after running for 1500 Kms from Trichy .The Train seemed no more a mere train ,but a Co-Trichyian ……As expected , Rikshaw Waalaas and Auto waalaas came for receiving me in Railway Station – the Universal kith and Kins for any type of Indian traveller…The Old age Rickshaws lured my eyes and in seconds I nodded my head to gear up for an exciting Rickshaw Trip. Although the technology has paced ahead with supersonic cars , the pleasure of travelling like a snail with rickshaws & bullock carts stands ahead of all the other advents. While I was adviced to stay in Dwaraka nagar, the Rickshaawaala convinced me to stay in dolphin point. He took me through the ditches and kept on saying that vizag is a scenic place and asked me “isn’t It, beautiful?” . I closed my nostrils as tight as I could and shook my head symbolizing that “I agree”. After 15 minutes of ditchy travel , he took me to Madhava Residency .The room was good & comparatively cheap for Rs 295 / day .Took a quick bath. As the clock ticked 08:45, jingle bells rang from my stomache ,direly looking for a breakfast. I asked the room boy , as what would be served for the breakfast. He smiled and said “Sir, we don’t serve any food here”. I looked @ the roof for a while, rewinded what rickshaw waalaa narrated during his ditchy ride.”None of the hotels in Vizag , serve food as good as Madhava does”. The Room Boy interrupted me from the flashback and asked “Sir, Do you need a Bisleri Bottle?” Now ,its my turn to smile @ him. I thought that atleast outside ,I will be able to find good hotels ,but to my dismay, they weren’t for another 1 km .It took me a little time to understand that Rickshaw waalaa had thrown big Boulders on my little head mercilessly. I lost my Opening Wicket of food in the very first ball of the Vizag Game. In jagadaamba Point ,I came across “Hotel Sabari” . The tidyness of the hotel forced me ,as I entered without digging too much on the quality of the Hotel. Aroma of the Saambar Vada and Adhitya hrudayam over the speakers reduced my Friction –Coefficiency that I had over the Rickshaw waala. Kick started my trip towards RK Beach in a bus .The ride finally ended when I Could see hue blue and sea waves’s roar . I saw a bus driver relaxing @ the beach. I introduced myself and asked him the proximity of the Places, I intended to see and the ideal view time. Upon hearing from him i decided for a sea cruising , first. There was a luxurious APTDC bus waiting in the road .It looked stylish as that of the ramoji film city bus with upper deck .It had a funny clock inside. The departure time pasted over the bus showed that it would start by 11:00. i took the left side entrance seat to view the seashore in a big Screen..When the clock ticked 11:05, few Foreigners sitting behind me got down of the bus and asked the bus driver as why bus didn’t start and showed their clock indicating the bus was late by 5 minutes ..Their question triggered laughter in us. (I guess that should be their first ever visit to India). The driver looked at them as if they had asked a silly question and continued smoking. Irritated foreigners decided to boycott the bus ride. The driver got panic , dropped the cigarette & pleaded them to get inside. He muttered in his smoky mouth before lifting the gear lever.(I guess it’s a bad word in Telugu). The ride was for 10 minutes, after which we entered harbour, consequently into a boat. Two took the sternum portion. The hot sun’s rays hitting the sea transformed sea into golden hue colour. Horn noise of cars got retarded , while uproar of sea waves enchanted everywhere. I could see a raft @ a mile distance .There was a couple who were little enjoying the nature , but were aggressive in their romance. The guy told me to take a snap of them in a way that they will regain their youth even in their eighties ,upon seeing it . I did do that ! Instead of saying a thanx, he irritated me by saying “Did you come Alone to Vizag?”.My happy waves reached the Doldrums .It was almost 12:30 .My next plan was to Museum ,which was 2 Kms from R.K.Beach ...but to my dismay, it was closed and the Message Board over there said that ,it would be opened by 14:00 Hrs. I was not knowing ,how to pass the remaining 1.5 Hrs. A lady was selling Chilled Coconut water ,right opposite to Museum. I roasted huge groundnuts with her for next 1.5 hrs ,spoiling her business by atleast 15%..Coming Back to Museum , the big black Submarine never boosted my excitement @ any point of time..i was frequently yawning ,when the narrator described me the achievements of the sub-marine ..Even photos taken inside sub-marine turned out to be a bad one with lots of wires and electronic devices .Took rest in the nearby park for 30 minutes..Felt better as I released partial tiredness acquired from the Train Journey. Now it was 16:30 ..i started heading towards Kailasagiri ,the one that was too much narrated in the cyber world .The Bus strode on Hair Pin bends. As an alternate option , it had a Tram Service too Operated (up & down service). The entrance arch is Artististic. Do Stop there to enjoy its Marvel .. Apart from that , Shiv Statue was very nice .With Lights turned on ,it seemed even more gorgeous.. The idol of Lord Shiva stands tall at a height of 40 ft. The floral clock one of the biggest in India is in the entrance with a diameter of 10 ft. The floral clock gives an artistic impression on the lush green patches on the backdrop of the Shiva Parvathi statue. It stands as a land mark and attracting huge crowds..It was good that I was there on the hillock for dusk .I took a train ride , that had luxurious seats ,reddish Paintings & more Surprisingly a TTE ,who was not all required .As the train started ,Bommarilu Songs were played ..The Train’s Pace never crossed 10KMPH. Viewing Vizag @ a height of 200 meters from the Sea level was indeed marvellous atleast for one half of the Train ride. The other half of was pretty dry.I met a newly married kannadiga Couple. The “He” in that requested me to take a snap of them .His wife was sizzling @ him for he had put his hands tightly over her shoulders. He was in a hurry and told that he was leaving to Arakku .While Leaving, he asked me in Kannada “Neevu Obbare bandira ?“. I came back to Jagadmba , had dinner..The Day ended, with few good shots and ,but with wide coverage of Places.

The Next day morning, I started very early to Simhachalam ..My body unable to bear the cold, signaled my mouth to rattle. It was 45 minutes of travel and the journey was not yet over .The temple is in a hillock of 250 meters and it took an addl 15 minutes over an another bus. I got inspired about “Simhachalam” after seeing the “yamadonga” Movie. The temple is amidst a greenery .The Pulihora Prasad was better .The courtyards were not constructed in a well planned manner, but I could spend a gracious hour in the Auspicious Place. While returning, I used Stairs. I could see a creature almost in the form of a butterfly all the way down the stairs. Nice stains of colours on its wings. I could cover some good Scenic landscape shots too .Evening , I started towards RushiKonda Beach .This was more Scenic when compared to RK Beach. While the Former was for Masses , this was for Classes. Depth was too less and any one can try swimming in the beaches .Smart Small Kids started jumping over the waves , as if like jumping on a swimming pool .I was totally confused as what to do ? ---Whether to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Beach ? (or ) to record the beauty in my camera? Then ,I started doing both parallely .Took few risky shots amidst the crabs on a slippery rock. Few Tamilians helped me in getting shots ..They didn’t ask me , what I expected could spill out of their mouth. I left the beach with a heavy heart after spending 3.5 Hrs . I should have spent addl 2 hrs. I then left for Bheemli Beach .It resembled like Besant Nagar beach …Going to Bheemli after seeing rushikonda ,is like getting drenched in ditch after having a good shower bath. I wasted an hour in the transit time. Got a new Camera Pouch for the Upcoming adventurous Arakku trip.

Next day Morning, I got up early …Put my travel bag into cloak room ..i had just Rs 400 in my hand along with a SBI ATM card. Someone told me that there is a SBI ATM available in Arakku . My Plan was to have fun , the entire day in Borra caves & the surrounding premises and spend the night in Arakku in an inexpensive lodge and return back to Vizag , the next immediate evening..I stood by the front door of the train (vizag –kirandul Passenger) ,waiting eagerly for tunnels .First Tunnel came after 2 hrs , when whistles encroached the nook and corners of the train ..One Tirunelveli guy praised the English people saying “ vellakaaran mooleye moola thaan.” The sudden Coolness from the vents of the tunnel , made him utter those words..Ladies and kids rushed towards the door ,with whistles fuelling their enthusiasm. And so , I happened to manage my spectations by sitting in the footsteps ,of course along with fear .I didn’t feel the loneliness , which I had for the past 2 days..Simple, whistles lit up my spirit .I too became a child after 20 years .When the train bended in the curves ,it seemed more sexier than the hip of the most sexiest lady ,I have ever seen .The dew made mountains partially transparent . Finally the 44th tunnel ended in the Bora caves .It was 10:45 , when I felt that , I am stepping out of the earthly heaven ..Many people got down @ Bora ..Seemed like many people had similar plans as that of me ..School children were plenty among them ..i walked from Bora railway station to Bora caves. The path was 1.5 Kms Long and was full of Ups and down. Had if had , I taken a car , I wouldn’t have relished the road swing much !I entered the borra caves , keeping in mind the resentment of Jaggu(jagadish) on the blurred snaps of the caves ..The cave was dark and needed long shutter Lags ..i set my camera to night mode , making use of the rocks available over there as Tripods…I was accompanied by final year college students who maintained a lively Momentum ,inside the mysterious caves. The more deeper I went inside , more rapidly my heart started beating .The rate @ which my panic increased was thrice the distance that I travelled deeper into caves .The spots had resemblance of Guru-Sishyan Climax. Inside the caves was a small Shiv temple. One could reach there with the help of rugged steepy steps. Most of them felt swooning while climbing to and getting down and I was no exception. Those College guys and girls cruised well ahead before me. 3 Years before , I would be like them ,but now I became a Sabertooth tiger. Goswani river was flowing below Borra caves. The location, reminded me of a Scene that I have seen in a hindi Magical film. Outside the cave , in a hut was an Oriyan family where I had the lunch for Rs25.Except pappu ,nothing else was good but going by the theory of relativity ,it tasted better than the vizag hotels. Next , I joined 2 professional photographers to hire a jeep to Cutki waterfalls .There was no well laid road, but jeep rode well over mud and clay. People who came in their own Car ,were not allowed to take their car ,as the path to Cutki demanded a 4 wheel power driven vehicle like a jeep. If still someone would want to try for a car trip , they will end-up kicking their own buckets!.The jeep finally halted on a deserted area ,which was 8 Kms away from Waterfalls. The sad part is that driver told us to walk for 2 more kms ,to see the water falls. Having told , he shouldered the responsibility to a young boy who guided us with a deep silence .After a Km walk , we were able to see Cuttki in a pure white form .The Synonym of whiteness , Purity , silence , greeneries , fresh Air is what Cutki explains! We 3 started hill trekking .Full of Mud , I took my slippers in hand & started trekking .A slip @ any point of the trek would have blown out my camera into pieces ,me succumbing bruises over the body. We reached the top after 35 minutes of walk. We were already 3000 feet standing from the sea level! The water was very tasty and cold. The professional photographer was trying to take a mug of water ,but couldn’t .The water was 10 times chiller than the cooler waves emanating from the ice rocks. Know not where it originates , but merges into Goswani river . I sat over a Rock , inhaled the air in the best deepest way possible .After Holding it for a while and releasing it , felt the rejuvenated blood ,replenishing my whole body ,especially my eyes turning cool like a Ice Mint .The “moogil kadugale “ song from samurai will fit the bill perfectly! I would love to have a small hut over there ,instead of getting a Crore valed land in shamshadabad! But the sad part is that there was no single word about Cutki in the cyber world!A fter an hour I left the place with my 2 professional photographers .(The photos they took were rocking!)Unable to bear the chillness they took with them 5 bottles of red-beer from the village people ,over there. Now, I had just Rs 90 left over with me and I got into a bus to arakku . All long the journey , the cutki came through my thoughts like a dancing damsel and went disappeared .It was an hour journey and the bus travelled in hair pins bends! Soon I reached Arakku , mobile faded without signals .Someone alerted me already on this..I asked a person for an ATM. He asked me “what’s that ?” .I thought he should be ignorant about that. Just asked the same question to other guy who seemed to be a urban ,but was a native of arakku! He told me that , he has never seen in Arakku ,although conveyed his eagerness to know how it would resemble like .Now , panic engulfed me .Luckily , I could see a medical shop and asked him for an ATM. “Sir, You need to travel 45 kms to SKota for an ATM. Arakku will come up with an ATM FACILITY SHORTLY .” With 900 kms away from Hyderabad, who will ever come to rescue me in Arakku , with the trifle amount I had! Suddenly that Rs 90 turned Precious, life turned mysterious , Arakku turned hell .. i asked him when is the last bus to Skota . He pointed his fingers towards a bus that came full . I was core hungry ,but the trifle amount in my pocket and that last bus to Skota prevented me from taking a dinner! I got into the bus using all my energy, I had had from cutki , although I was bit hungry. The bus was occupied with full of baskets , Hens ,cocks , fruits .Hardly were there any place for Bus conductor to walk . The ride was for 2.5 hrs and I took vomit twice . I don’t think vomiting is contagious , but a girl took soon ! (I am not responsible for that ,anyways) . @ 21:30 , when I landed @ Skota Bus stop , I was told about the directions for SBI ATM , the one and only ATM in that location . Went all the way ….Thanx that it didn’t throw any error “ This ATM is temporarily out of sevice”.. Now,I thought for a while ,what if the ATM had run out of service…Simple , I would have been forced to drop –out my arakku trip and return back to Vizag , with the remaining 45 rupees I had with me! Since that was Friday night , the lodges were full and I could get a small ugly isolated room for Rs 70. Some strange sounds were coming from the backside of the room. I didn’t bother too much on that and took a Cake and banana ,all that I could get in that place on that Friday night .I slept half starving .…Oliver twist should have slept daily like this!

The next day morning I caught the first bus to Arakku . When I was wondering how to spend the 2.5 Hrs of hair pin bended Journey ,,,there came a drunkard guy and his brother for entertaining my co-travellers in the bus . The journey path didn’t have rich bio-diversification ,but the glimpse of hills and valleys did passed my time . Reached Arakku again . The Terrific night was over! I went to Chaapparai (Soft Rocks) .We have bus services at odd intervals .Since I was in Arakku @ odd time , odd * odd turned out to be even .The people in the bus saw with a wide eye ,the Compact camera with me .The tribal people of Arakku were dressed like any other Tribal People. Finally I reached Chapparai (Around 15 Kms from Arakku) by 12:30. One could see lots of shoulder skating over the softer rocks .The January season had scanty brownish water ,but still I decided to have a shower bath in that . I departed after spending a couple of hours over there, but couldn’t get a bus for a return trip . Lots of jeeps were passing through that route but none of them had a seating option . Almost , all the jeeps that came through had 15 people sitting, tightly packed and 6 people standing on the sides of jeep. One jeep offered me standing . Initially it was nice ,but as the Lorries passed sideways, I turned Cold and unable to bear the furious lorries approaching me sideways I shouted loud with Lorry horns increasing my Shreakness . The driver halted the jeep and asked me to come by bus. I promised him that I won’t shout again. Seeing my plethora , he changed me towards the Leeward side . Now , he stopped finally @ a hotel near Railway station . That hotel ‘s daal tasted best among the food I had had on those 4 days of trip. The Rly station of arakku was flooded with people who were eagerly waiting for the vizag train! The celebration started as the Tunnels arrived. It was yet another Bonanza ! Happened to meet kolkatta people and a gentleman in my compartment. It was almost night 21:00 hrs when I reached Vizag back . I could notice that train travels 1 hour late in the return journey to Vizag to avoid the slip of carriages due to slanting slope!

On the fifth and final day Morning I went to kaali temple which is opposite to RK Beach,. Had plans of going to HUDA park but dropped out and went to OkkaMaagadu! Had a nice entertainment for 3 Hrs in that crowded matinee . I left to vizag Rly station by 18:00 Hrs. I don’t want to try the pantry food , so got a parcel @ Railway station in that posh hotel.(couldn’t remember the name) . A child of 2 months which came in the forma of my Co-Passenger cried the whole night and my night sleep came to an end! The next day Morning train was late by 4 Hrs (After noon 12:30) and as a result , I had to be in Office without a shower bath !Thanx to My colleagues who could tolerated the stinct! Memories of Vizag Still runs like a perenniel river in my mind!

Why did I start Travelling ALONE ?

Ask Few of my Co-Earthians , What a “Chocolate” means to them .Response might be like this… - “ I love Chocos” , “ I was adviced not to eat any more” , “ah!I like giving them to Children” , “ I hate Chocos” , “I eat only Foreign Chocos” , “…mmm ,Delicious One”. While for me, it’s a “ World beyond Heavenly Feelings – An Inexplicable derivation of Exponential Joy” . In my Kinder’s when someone gifts me Chocos , I would kiss them ,as I would kiss my Mother , as a token of my kiddy thanx ….. Bcoz I kissed them with my tender Lips , they would fetch me more & more ..This continued like the Evapouration cycle of water. I Once read in my Moral Science book , the story of Sudamma to whom Krishna came in the form of a Potter(not Harry potter )to give the Nectar .This deeply got registered in my mind that God won’t come straight to you , but will come in the guise of Human Beings..For a long time ,I thought these people are those gods …
I would take those choccos to a Lonely Place , Unveil the Wrapper Carefully , lick the choco thrice or fours , give a sound like Bommarilu’s “Kani Ippudu …mmmmmmmmmmmmm”,put it into my tongue, close my eyes..I won’t be on the earth for the next ten – fifteen Minutes, till the Choco melts completely like the Ice berg that gets submerged over the Atlantics/Pacifics ..

A stage came where in I had tasted chocos of almost all varieties .Whichever so Proclaimed as the New ,Untasted variety and entered the Choco Market , seemed to me like a Re-Mix song , with a small change in the minor ingredients .Not more than that ..I got boredom with Chocos. I stopped kissing those gods too ..I thought Is there any chocos that can be tasted any no of times, without a sulk. The question pervaded , wherever I went , whichever I saw, and one day it stopped all of a sudden when I entered my 10th Std .Till 2 years , it didn’t disturb me or rather I had shifted my significance towards Studies. When I entered my college , I didn’t bother it either till my second year Engineering , as I was still pursuing my studies , seriously .When I entered my third year Hostel , the Question multiplied its dimensions, showed its geeky teeth. My Third year hostel was in Hillock .The distance between my Hostel & College was 50 m. One day, fortunately , I noticed an another route , that provided a view point to Scenic Mountain .I dropped the short Route ,and took this Route for my daily college classes. I became so craze that , even I walked through those on Saturdays & Sundays too. I was a Lonely Traveler in the Road not Taken. Co-incidentally, I came across the Sangameshwar Temple located on the Banks of Bhavani River. The Beautiful Courtyard, Spacious Gardens; Serene Atmosphere enthralled me so much that I made it a regular practice to visit The Temple every Sunday Evenings. The Temple now joined the list of “favorites” along with the Scenic Mountain.

Finally when I finished my college Life, a sense of Loneliness & Completeness Surmounted me. Loneliness Bcoz , I won’t be able to see the Mountain & Temple . I also Understood that I got addicted to them , without knowing that I had been …That revealed me “ Nature is the Choco , which will never bore me ,no matter how many times so ever I taste it.”..I felt like a Complete man – like raymonds..I suppose God is the M/f of these Chocos. i decided to travel widely and record the Nature’s Beauty , as beautiful as possible, and share the Beauty with others too…I bought a camera in Hyderabad (Nikon). My first journey ,outside Hyderabad was to Vijayawada. Then visited various places like Badrachalam , Srisailam, Nizamabad,Basar,Vizag. With my wide journey Experience with various Co-passengers , I observed how my co-earthians taste the God’s Chocos. One Variety , see the god’s Choco Wrapper and say “Wow ! Excellent” without even smelling it. These are those who don’t venture for Travelling but Speak lots& lots about it and finally say “See…Actually I don’t travel much. I read in Hindu – Magazine / Saw in Tourism Website / My Friend told me / Saw in Travel Channel” …. The second Variety open the Wrapper , put the chocco into mouth .They eat but never taste. Some of these People , run through the Scenic Spots in a speed greater than a jet Airlines , click a photo in Nano Second , look Perturbed stating “Its Time ,Already ..Come Lets go to Next Place “, urging the Family Members gaze the tip of the graze. Also, they take a resolution to visit the same place next time for certain , very leisurely. While Bible of my heart speaks that ,” Certainly , there is nothing called Certainity “..There are also few people in these Variety , who keep chat & keep cracking Jokes, laugh like a Blarring of an Elephant , without noticing the gentle smile of Nature through their Windows. Suddenly they would notice me. Ask me with no hesitation “ Came Alone ? .Don’t U feel Bored ? “ I used to reply “ I am used to that “

….Deep in my heart circulates the Question in my arteries as well as in Veins , “ How will ever a Person enjoy , when he travels with a Group .” but dared not to ask anyone as I pretty well know that if I had uttered those that would have been my last Journey in Earth …
